Teresa Macedo Ferreira Viola
Teresa Macedo Ferreira is a young Portuguese violist. She started learning viola aged nine with Dírio Alves in her home town at Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga. In September 2018, Teresa started her Bachelor of Music(Hons)at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), Glasgow, where she received a full scholarship for her studies and graduated with a first-class honours degree in July 2022. During that time Teresa studied modern viola with Duncan Ferguson and baroque viola with Ruth Slater and developed her love for chamber and solo playing, winning several awards in both subjects. In 2019, Teresa became an Instrumental Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation which led her to take the teaching module at the RCS in 2020 and the ABRSM Teaching Diploma in 2021, in which she received distinction. Since September 2022, Teresa has been undertaking her Guildhall Artist Master's in Performance–Violawith a scholarship atthe Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. For the academic year of 2022/2023 Teresa was selected for the LSO String Experience Scheme and the Guildhall Young Artists Graduate Assistant programme. In January 2023, Teresa became a Lead Instrumental Ambassadorfor the Benedetti Foundation
