Sarah Potjewijd Piano
Sarah is a pianist originally from Bath, and now studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Katharine Lam. Having spent her childhood also pursuing studies on clarinet and cello and participating in local and national ensembles such as NYO Inspire, Sarah is passionate about collaborative music-making, as well as bringing depth and richness of sound to her own solo playing.
Sarah performs regularly as a soloist around the West Midlands and is looking forward to her concerto debut in London in Autumn 2024, where she will be performing the Delius Piano Concerto with the Willow Orchestra, an orchestra made up of conservatoire students from across London.
Highlights of Sarah’s recent collaborative work include a student-led opera scenes production at RBC, training as a ballet pianist at Elmhurst Ballet School, and working on Dohnanyi’s Sextet as her chamber project.
Sarah is excited to continue honing her skills as both soloist and collaborative pianist, with plans for several album recordings with friends and upcoming concerts in the works. At the heart of her ethos as a musician is connection with audiences and bringing herself wholly to a performance, something which she hopes to instil in her pupils.
