Ruth Nelson Viola
Viola player Ruth Nelson was born in Belfast. During her studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Ruth was privileged to play alongside the London Symphony Orchestra and the Academy of Ancient Music. Ruth is a regular guest at festivals including Cervo Chamber Music, St Endellion Festival, Musicfest Aberystwyth and Southwell Music Festival. She has performed recently with orchestras including Aurora Orchestra, Spira Mirabilis, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Concertante. Other recent highlights have included participating in masterclasses with Ivan Fischer and Ferenc Rados in Budapest, Thomas Riebl in Austria, Ettore Causa in London and performing Mozart’s Kegelstatt trio with principal clarinettist of the LSO, Andrew Marriner.
