Lucy Amos Trumpet

Lucy, a recent BMus(Hons) Trumpet graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is a passionate community musician working with “The Big Bang” to deliver percussion-based workshops in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. She is also currently expanding her teaching studio.

Born in Bedfordshire, Lucy has performed with many groups such as Bedfordshire Youth Opera and Youth Symphony Orchestra and the English Schools Orchestra and has played in major festivals such as Twinwoods Jazz festival and opened for bands such as McFly.

In Scotland, Lucy has performed with many ensembles such as Falkirk Operatic Society, Amicus Orchestra and Edinburgh City Orchestra. Lucy has also played principal trumpet with RCS Chamber Orchestra as well as RCS Opera Orchestra and RCS Concerto orchestra and has been a strong section player for the RCS Symphony Orchestra. Lucy has also played in the side-by-side scheme with the RSNO and is a mentee with the International Women’s Brass Conference.

Lucy is a founding member of Eala Brass, a Glasgow based brass trio that won first place in the Governor’s Recital Prize for Chamber Music 2024 as well as Highly Commended for the David James Brass Prize 2024

Her most notable performance was broadcast live internationally for the Motion of Condolence at Scottish Parliament when Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Throughout her time at RCS, Lucy has been fortunate to be taught by Peter Franks, Mark O’Keefe and Chris Hart.

Upcoming projects include Britten’s Four Sea Interludes with Amadeus Academy and Holst’s Planets with the Esker Festival Orchestra.
