Jenna Raggett Violin
Irish violinist Jenna Raggett enjoys a diverse portfolio career, combining her passion for performing with her love of teaching and working in the wider community.
As a Baroque violinist, Jenna performs regularly with the Irish Baroque Orchestra directed by Peter Whelan. She will make her debut with IBO as a workshop leader and presenter during HandelFest 2023, where she is presenting four children’s concerts and leading workshops with refugee families.
As a community musician, Jenna has worked with organisations such as Wigmore Hall, Creative Futures, Music House for Children, RCM Sparks and the Benedetti Foundation, where she is currently a Lead Ambassador. Some of her most meaningful work is as Performer in Residence at Great Ormonde Street Children’s Hospital. In this space Jenna has the opportunity to collaborate with patients, staff and other artists, blending her love for a variety of musical styles. She teaches violin with Music Masters and Arco – Music for All, where she is dedicated to making music a possibility for every child.
Jenna graduated with a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and a Master’s in Performance Science at the Royal College of Music. With an interest in the link between the performing arts and health and wellbeing, her master's dissertation focused on the health and wellbeing experiences of first year students as they enter conservatoire education.
In her spare time, she can be found reflecting in her journal, listening to podcasts or having a singsong with her nearest and dearest!
