Gregor Spence Trusts and Foundation Manager
Gregor joined the Benedetti Foundation in October 2024 as Trusts and Foundations Manager, working with the Head of Development in fundraising to support the work of The Benedetti Foundation.
Gregor entered the professional world as Philanthropy Officer at Garsington Opera in June 2023. This involved responsibility for small Trust and Foundation applications, directly liaising with members, undertaking donor stewardship, and assisting the Head of Philanthropy and Development Director where needed.
Prior to this, Gregor studied Music at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, graduating in 2022 with 1st Class Honours with Tuba as his principal study. Subsequently Gregor completed a Master’s Degree in Arts Management which was generously supported by a scholarship from The Mosawi Foundation, also at the RWCMD, graduating with a Distinction in 2023. This course covered a wide range of topics from Fundraising to Audience Development to Finance. During this time, Gregor enjoyed a placement as Fundraising Officer for Cowbridge Music Festival and this affirmed that a career in Development was the way to go.
In his spare time, Gregor is a member of the Flowers Brass Band, The National Champion Band of Great Britain. In addition to playing tuba in the band, Gregor undertakes the management of the ensemble including booking engagements, marketing, and fundraising amongst others. Outside of this, any other spare time will often be spent buried in a book!
