Djordje Gajic Accordion

Djordje Gajic is an internationally acclaimed accordionist with a distinguished career as a performer and educator. A graduate of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, where he earned a Master of Music degree and the prestigious Honorary Title of Solo Performer, he later pursued post-graduate studies and was appointed Assistant to the renowned Professor Yuri Dranga. His musicianship has been recognized with numerous accolades, having won most of the major accordion international competitions in Italy, Serbia, France, Germany, and Russia.

His performance career has taken him across the globe, where he has played with leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Russian State Symphony Orchestra under Yvgeny Svetlanov, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra (BBC Proms), Fibonacci Sequence Ensemble, Locrian Ensemble, and Hebrides Ensemble. Gajic's recitals have captivated audiences in Europe, the USA, Australia, China, Russia, and beyond. In addition, his duo ADLibitum with violinist Andrea Gajic has been praised for its dynamic interpretations.

Critics have commended Djordje's performances for their "pyrotechnical virtuosity" and "brilliant, intelligent playing," lauding his ability to fuse technical precision with emotional depth. His recordings and live performances have been featured on major networks like the BBC, RTS Serbia, RTR Russia, and RAI Italy.

In addition to his vibrant performing career, Djordje is a dedicated educator. He holds a teaching position at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he founded the classical accordion department in 2008, contributing significantly to the growth of the instrument's presence in the academic world.
