In the Beginner Orchestra, we will work on two pieces of music; one for just the Beginner Orchestra, written specially for you by Joelle, and one piece which is for mass orchestra. For this, you will join the Intermediate and Advanced players to rehearse. You will receive the parts and tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare. ​Repertoire will be announced soon.

On the sessions, we will explore expression, rhythm, storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing, the context of the music and improvisation, as well as delving into specific technical challenges.  ​

A creative task is also shared in advance to encourage participants to immerse themselves in the story of the music during the preparation period. We then ask participants to bring this with them to the weekend. 

Both days will end with a short sharing session to which families are invited to join (limited capacity). The sharing sessions will be recorded and shared with all participants.
