Annabel Stevens Violin
Annabel Stevens is currently studying the violin at the RCS. She grew up in West Bridgford, Nottingham, but moved to Glasgow in 2021 to start her bachelor's degree. This is Annabel’s third year as an ambassador for the foundation, having previously attended sessions as a participant online and performed as part of the Benedetti Foundation Orchestra for their inaugural concert and recording with DECCA in 2019. Since joining the programme, she has begun working with the Junior departments of the RCS, The Mull Music Makers, and the National Children’s Orchestras. As a teacher, Annabel is passionate about developing skills relevant beyond playing the violin, such as body awareness, resilience,and focus. Shecurrently worksprimarily with beginner learners and usesKodalyto put an emphasis on the general musicianship aspects of instrumental playing.Besides her studies in the RCS, Annabel has performed with the Trent Chamber Orchestra andin professional schemes with the RSNO, the Scottish Ensemble, and members of the Scottish Opera at the 2023 Cantilena Festival; she also played as part of the GRIT orchestra at the 2023 Edinburgh International Festival opening weekend. Looking ahead to 2025, she isexcited to be taking up a student placement with Big NoiseScotland, and to performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the RCS symphony
