ADVANCED ORCHESTRA

Advanced Orchestra
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July 2025

Welcome to the Benedetti Sessions - we’re delighted you’re interested in joining us. The Advanced Orchestra is for players working beyond Grade 7 level.
You will join us on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July. Participants are required to attend both days.

Watch this short video from Tutor, Clifton Harrison, to find out more about what we do in the Advanced Orchestra, and whether this is the right group for you.

During these sessions, the Advanced Orchestra will work on two pieces; one which is just for your orchestra and one mass piece, bringing together the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras. Repertoire will be announced soon.

On the weekend, we explore expression, storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing, the context of the music and improvisation, as well as delving into specific technical challenges.

A creative task is also shared in advance to encourage participants to immerse themselves in the story of the music during the preparation period. We then ask participants to bring this with them to the weekend.

Both days will end with a short sharing session to which families are invited to join (limited capacity). The sharing sessions will be recorded and shared with all participants.

Video Link: When you sign up, please add the link to a short video of your playing. This is not for assessment or audition, but helps us to support your young musicians during the weekend. If you can’t add a video link when signing up, you will be able to access a Google form to attach the link after you have completed your registration (please see your confirmation email for further instructions).
